How to make a Clay’s Choice block – Quilting Tips & Techniques 144

This video shows how to make a Clay’s Choice block, using 2 1/2″ squares. The block will measure 8 1/2″ so will be an 8″ block when finished. This is a traditional block but I have made it using more contemporary fabrics and I think it looks great! What do you think?

I just found your blog and videos a couple of months ago and you are fantastic! I too am self taught, can’t use a pattern. Starting the mystery quilt and can’t wait to see how this all turns out. Love the way that you used the 2 1/2 inch squares. So can’t wait to give this a try. Looking forward to your next post.

I am in my late sixties, and just learning quilting, I am finding your instruction very encouraging so much so I have started that garden quilt and doing part 2 at the moment. Hope I have not interfered with your plan but part 1 seemed a bit bare so I placed some embroidery onto the top part. May I express my appreciation for your efforts, time and energy you put into your site.
